Smoked Alaska Salmon and Onion Tart

serves 4 as a starter
Ingredients
1 pre-baked pie shell
2 medium yellow onions, sliced
1 stick unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup heavy cream
2 eggs
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
10 oz smoked Alaska salmon flakes
To make
- Melt butter in a pan, add onions and sweat without browning (medium heat until soft and translucent)
- Transfer to medium sized bowl and stir in flour cream and eggs.
- Gently fold in cheese and salmon. Season to taste with salt & pepper.
- Pour in pre-baked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown and set (45-60 minutes).
