Pikeperch
Pikeperch are so named because they resemble the pike with their elongated body and head, and the perch with their spiny dorsal fin but they are not a pike and perch hybrid. They thrive in water with rather low visibility by "listening" to the water, and are very active at night.
Pikeperch are a close relative of the walleye, which is common in the US and Canada. Their meat has a small flake and delicate texture with a mild, sweet taste. Try some of our sustainable pikeperch recipes below!

The MSC-certified pikeperch fisheries are located at picturesque Lake Hjälmaren in South Sweden. The fishers put up gill nets during the ice season and catch pikeperch with traps during the rest of the year – hence it is counted as two fisheries.
