Ecolabel designs

The new MSC ecolabel, introduced in July 2009, offers greater flexibility for design and translation.

Format variations – suiting different packaging design needs

Ecolbel format variations

The ecolabel is available in two formats; a landscape and a portrait version. Either version can be used, making it easier for designers to integrate the ecolabel into different packaging designs and formats.

Translation flexibility

What the new MSC logo looks like in FrenchThe text ‘Certified Sustainable Seafood’ can be translated into other languages - approved translations are available from the MSC.

Multiple language option

In countries that require text on packaging to be printed in more than one language, a further variation is available in which the textbox only contains the text ‘MSC’ and the MSC website.

The MSC claim

Two options of the MSC claim are available when the MSC ecolabel is consumer-facing. Further options are available for use of the ecolabel on menus, non-consumer facing use, and a shortened version for use in situations where there is not enough space to print a full claim.
