Seafood companies
To use the MSC logo on seafood products or materials relating to seafood products you first need an MSC Chain of Custody certificate. Find out how to get certified to show that you have systems in place to ensure that only seafood from an MSC certified fishery is sold with the MSC logo.
Once you are certified for Chain of Custody, to use the logo you need a logo licence from the MSC's trading company, Marine Stewardship Council International (MSCI).
There are 2 categories of commercial use of the MSC logo:
- Consumer-facing: Examples include retail and independent brand MSC-labelled seafood products, menus in foodservice outlets and 'direct to consumer' websites.
- Non consumer-facing: Examples include bulk packaging, foodservice caterer price lists and websites.
