Lake Hjälmaren Pikeperch Fish-Trap

Fishery: Lake Hjälmaren Pikeperch Fish-Trap fishery (Stizostedion lucioperca)

Status: 
The certification body, Moody Marine, has released the 1st annual surveillance report for the Lake Hjälmaren Pikeperch Fish-Trap fishery:

The audit was carried out in August 2007.  The next audit for the fishery is due in August 2008.

Location:
The fishery is located within Lake Hjälmaren, southern Sweden.

Fishing method:
Fish-trap.

Management:
Management of the fishery is divided between the National Board of Fisheries which provides regulation of the fishery and allocates licenses and the County Administrative Boards which carries out enforcement and surveillance and are also responsible for supervision.

Assessment process:
Full assessment began in May 2004. The fishery was certified on 07 August 2006.
