Partner Release: ARAMARK’s nationwide German catering operations awarded MSC certificate

Catering company ARAMARK has been awarded the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Chain of Custody certificate for seafood traceability. This makes them the first and, as yet, only such company with nationwide operations in Germany that is allowed to use the MSC ecolabel on its fish dishes. The company-wide MSC certification is an important part of ARAMARK’s sustainability strategy.
The blue MSC ecolabel is trusted around the world and is the best-known ecolabel for sustainably caught fish and seafood. It is used only on products that can be traced back along the entire supply chain – right back to the sustainably managed MSC certified fishery that caught the fish.
MSC certification was the logical next step
ARAMARK has been sourcing fish from sustainable fisheries since 2007. For the catering company, MSC certification was the logical next step to expand its sustainability activities. ARAMARK is switching its entire fish range to products from sustainable MSC certified fisheries immediately, depending on availability. The MSC ecolabel on menus and information materials will ensure transparency and confidence for over 250,000 customers across Germany who use ARAMARK restaurants every day.
