Barents Sea cod and haddock - Annual surveillance auditThe Conformity Assessment Body, Food Certification International Ltd., has announced that the Barents Sea cod and haddock fishery will shortly be undergoing an annual surveillance audit. During the audit, Food Certification International Ltd., will be speaking with representatives of the fishery, fishery management bodies and other stakeholders of the fishery. Most meetings will be carried out over the period week commencing 3 September 2012 in Tromso, Norway and Murmansk, Russia. Eastern Canada offshore lobster - Annual surveillance auditThe Conformity Assessment Body, Intertek Moody Marine, has announced that the Eastern Canada offshore lobster fishery will shortly be undergoing an annual surveillance audit. During the audit, Intertek Moody Marine, will be speaking with representatives of the fishery, fishery management bodies and other stakeholders of the fishery. Most meetings will be carried out over the period 23-25 May 2012 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Hastings fleet Dover sole (trammel net) - Public Comment Draft Report available for stakeholder commentThe Conformity Assessment Body, Intertek Moody Marine, has announced that the Public Comment Draft Report for the Hastings fleet Dover sole (trammel net) fishery is now available for comment for a period of 30 days. Any stakeholder wishing to comment on the report is invited to contact Andrew Hough no later than 5pm GMT, 31 May 2012. Stakeholders are advised that they are to provide objective evidence in support of any additional claims or any claimed errors of fact in their response to the Public Comment Draft Report. Any comments made by stakeholders shall be documented and forwarded by the certification body to its certification decision-making entity.
Macquarie Island Toothfish - Determination & Final ReportFollowing a 30-day period of comment on the Draft Report for the Macquarie Island Toothfish fishery, the Conformity Assessment Body, Scientific Certification Systems Inc, has met to consider the report of the assessment team, the report of the Peer Review panel and all stakeholder comments. The Determination reached by the Conformity Assessment Body is that the Macquarie Island Toothfish fishery should be certified in accordance with the MSC Standard. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A DETERMINATION, NOT A FINAL CERTIFICATION RESULT. THIS FISHERY IS THEREFORE NOT YET CERTIFIED, NOR IS IT ABLE TO USE THE MSC ECOLABEL ON ANY PRODUCTS. There is now a 15 working day period during which a party may lodge a notice of objection to the determinations reached. Any intent to file an objection should first be addressed to the Independent Adjudicator care of the MSC's Chief Executive, Mr Rupert Howes at the email address objections@msc.org, by 5pm GMT, 23 May 2012.
Mexico Baja California Pole and Line yellowfin and skipjack tuna - Fishery CertifiedThe 15 working day period during which parties could have lodged an intent to object to the Conformity Assessment Body, Intertek Moody Marine, determination that the Mexico Baja California Pole and Line yellowfin and skipjack tuna fishery should be certified closed on 20 April 2012. No objections were received and the determination therefore holds. The new certificate will be in effect for 5 years, contingent on the fishery successfully completing annual audits of its status against the MSC standard. The MSC ecolabel may now be applied to catches taken from this fishery after the agreed eligibility date of 1 May 2012, by those companies with appropriate Chain of Custody certification in place.

Any stakeholder wishing to comment on the report is invited to contact Jodie Campbell no later than 5pm GMT, 4 June 2012. Stakeholders are advised that they are to provide objective evidence in support of any additional claims or any claimed errors of fact in their response to the Public Comment Draft Report. Any comments made by stakeholders shall be documented and forwarded by the certification body to its certification decision-making entity.

Most meetings will be carried out over the period week commencing 15 July 2012 in Aberdeen and Peterhead, Scotland.
