Certified as sustainable in March 2012.

Species:  Brown crab (Cancer pagurus)
Velvet crab (Necora puber)
King scallops (Pecten maximus).
Location: 
FAO Statistical Area 27, in EU waters-ICES Areas IVa which is within 6 nautical miles of Shetland.
Fishing methods:  Creel/Pots (static gear): Brown crab & Velvet crab,
Scallop Dredge (mobile gear): King scallops
Number of fisheries: 3

Fishery tonnage

Landings for 2009:
Brown crab:  210.48 tonnes
Velvet crab:  315.91 tonnes
Scallops: 259,9353 total catch (not tonnage)

Commercial market

Velvet Crab is exported live to the European market. Brown crab is processed for caned product as well as frozen for European and domestic market. Scallops are sold shucked, fresh to the European and domestic market.
