The Marine Stewardship Council is seeking a Communications, Media and Public Relations Manager for its Belgium office.

Working Hours: Full-time (38 hours/week)

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience of digital marketing and communications to be the first point of contact for the media and journalist’s liaison. This post will give the right candidate an excellent opportunity to deliver an ambitious communication strategy that helps to promote and educate others about the Marine Stewardship Council’s rigorous standard for seafood sustainability.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual with professional and practical experience in broad communications, environmental sustainability, and/or third-party certification schemes including the MSC program. You will be a self-starter with excellent project planning, organization and time management skills.

Who are you?

You will have:

  • A degree or relevant experience in Public Relations, Communications, journalism or Marketing.
  • Experience in a similar hands-on role, preferably with responsibility for developing and/or operating PR and media campaigns and/or marketing campaigns with multiple partners or similar. 
  • Experience working with the media and developing digital, social media, print and other communication channels and a thorough understanding of digital across all channels (online, print, etc.).
  • Experience using media monitoring measurement and analysis tools (Google Analytics, Cision and Sprout Social) to assess the performance of PR and media activities and to provide strategic insights.
  • Previous experience using Content Management Systems and a creative flair for making and publishing online content. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Flemish, French and English.
  • A willingness to travel between The Hague and Belgium (on average one day every 3 weeks, once the travelling restrictions due to COVID19 have been lifted).
