Program Development Consultant, Russia

We are looking for someone to join our expanding team in Moscow on a consultancy basis.

About the role

The program consultant will work in collaboration with MSCs Global Program Director and will work alongside two Russian based consultants. The consultant will undertake a range of activities aimed at developing and implementing a cohesive strategy, to bring the MSC to new and existing stakeholders in Russia. Utilising their strategy development, fisheries technical creative and organisational skills, the Russia Program Consultant will contribute to a diverse range of activities designed to help to promote the MSC’s mission, and ensure successful delivery of a comprehensive strategy for MSC in Russia, based on an external and internal analysis of services and needs, the scoping of relevant value propositions for Russian stakeholders based on the existing global frameworks and propositions available from MSC.

The Program Development Consultant will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for key fisheries organisations and fishing companies, processors, supporting stakeholders such as management authorities. 
  • Ensure efficient coordination of activity with the existing Mar/Comms and Fisheries-Science consultants in bringing the MSC program to end of supply chain operators, NGOs and science institutions. 
  • Work in close collaboration with the MSC’s Program Development team and staff in the MSC Outreach department.

Through our internationally-recognised certification and ecolabeling programme well-managed sustainable fisheries are recognised and rewarded in the market place, through the leadership of our partners.  Critically, other fisheries are incentivised to improve their performance to meet the growing demand for certified sustainable and traceable seafood choice. Over 400 fisheries around the world, representing 14% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC programme and over 1200 documented improvements to the way our oceans are being fished have been recorded. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 100 countries.
