Senior Program Engagement Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic manager to lead and drive the MSC program and its commercial and fisheries activities in Denmark.

About the role

The Manager will engage with partners in the fishery and seafood processing industry, as well as retail and the foodservice sector. The role also entails High level engagement with stakeholders including national authorities and Government and the scientific community. Outreach involves relationship building and maintaining, promoting and explaining the MSC concept and certification program. 

Additional tasks include:

  • Outreach and engagement in events, workshops and seminars
  • Briefing eNGOs and other non-industry stakeholders about the program and its developments

The successful candidate will also work on promoting the MSC and its partners by raising awareness with the public in Denmark working with the Communication and Marketing Manager on joint marketing and communication campaigns. The post holder will work in collaboration with the various team members based in the region and other members of the wider MSC community to deliver a consistent approach to the market actors in Denmark. Ultimately, the post strives to increase the supply of MSC labelled sustainable seafood choices in Denmark and maintain the high level of credibility amongst its stakeholders.

You should have:

  • a postgraduate degree in a business, economics, environmental/fisheries policy or marine conservation discipline;
  • previous experience in a similar role, with the responsibility for managing staff and multiple external partners;
  • knowledge and practical experience of the seafood industry, with existing contacts and networks is highly desirable. 
  • Experience of having worked with national authorities and/or Government agency desirable

There is some administrative support available, but the post holder should expect to be self-servicing regarding booking of tickets, planning trips etc. Outreach travel in Denmark is a regular feature of the job and to a lesser extent to the regional MSC office in Stockholm and the head office in London.
