Marketing Manager, China

Location : Beijing/Shanghai, China

The MSC’s vision is for the world’s oceans to be teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations. Through our world-leading certification and ecolabeling program we recognize and reward sustainable fisheries and through the leadership of our partners, create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they operate. Over 300 fisheries around the world, representing 12% of the annual global marine catch, are now engaged in the MSC program. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 100 countries.

The MSC opened offices in China in 2013 with the objective to localize the MSC standard in the Chinese market, as well as to support the organization’s global development. To achieve China’s goals outlined in our Integrated Strategic Plan from 2017 onwards, MSC China needs to scale up the capacity of personal resources.

The China Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, executing and managing the marketing program mainly in China and supporting Taiwan.  The marketing program will be co-organized with MSC certified suppliers in the retail and hotel industries.  Successful outcomes will be demonstrated by increased purchasing and sales of MSC-certified and labelled products, and increased consumer awareness through these outlets. 

The successful candidate will develop and execute appropriate plans to increase the quantity and breadth of MSC-certified and labeled products among retailers and foodservice operators.

We are looking for someone:

  • With excellent marketing skills and experience;
  • Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with third parties and also internal stakeholders; and
  • Who is creative and articulate and passionate about the MSC’s mission and objectives.

 This is a new role for the MSC and is based in Beijing or Shanghai, China. It provides an exciting opportunity for the right individual to make a significant contribution towards the delivery of the MSC’s mission.
