Sustainable Seafood Week Australia

Sustainable Seafood Week Australia is a celebration of the fisheries, retailers, chefs and restaurants in Australia that support our mission to end overfishing and ensure we have seafood forever.

When is Sustainable Seafood Week?

Sustainable Seafood Week Australia is 9-15 March 2020.

What to expect during Sustainable Seafood Week Australia 2020

Monday 9 March: We will announce the winners of the MSC Sustainable Seafood Awards Australia.

Sunday 15 March: Chef masterclass at Sydney Seafood School.

Why is it important to protect seafood?

With a growing world population, it’s important we protect the future of seafood, for people and the planet. The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) run a certification and labelling scheme.

When you see the green ASC label on a seafood product, you can be sure it is traceable back to a responsible farm. When you see the blue MSC label on a seafood product, it can be traced back to a sustainable fishery.
