YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A $500 GIFT CARD

We’re giving one lucky winner a $500 gift card to the supermarket of their choice. That’s a whole lot of seafood with the MSC blue fish tick label!

Terms and conditions

By entering this competition (the Competition), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is the Promoter of the Competition.

1. Eligibility

  • The Competition is open to residents of Australia and New Zealand aged 18 years or over.
  • Directors, officers, employees and contractors of the Promoter, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
  • By entering the Competition, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.
  • There is no cost to enter.

2. Competition period

The Competition opens on Wednesday 7 October 7 PM AEDT and closes at 11:59 pm AEDT on Wednesday, 21 October 2026 (the Competition Period).

Entries received after the Competition Period will not be accepted.

3. How to enter

To receive one entry into the Competition, during the Competition Period an eligible entrant must:

  • follow @mscbluefishtick on Instagram; and
  • tag a friend in the comments on the Competition post, with the tagged friend also following @mscbluefishtick.

The entrant and the friend they tag must both be following @mscbluefishtick when the Promoter verifies the winning entry.

Each eligible entrant may receive a maximum of one standard entry, except where they qualify for the bonus-entry mechanic described below.

4. Bonus entries

Eligible entrants can increase their total number of entries to 10 by:

  • posting an original photo showing the MSC blue fish tick label “in the wild” to their Instagram grid during the Competition Period; and
  • tagging @mscbluefishtick in the post.

Successfully completing the bonus-entry requirements gives the entrant 10 entries in total, not 10 additional entries.

The post must remain publicly visible, or otherwise be made available to the Promoter for verification, until the winner has been verified. Entrants with private Instagram accounts are responsible for ensuring the Promoter can verify their bonus entry.

An eligible entrant can receive a maximum of 10 entries in total, regardless of the number of qualifying photographs they post.

5. Entry requirements

Entries must be submitted by the entrant using their own Instagram account.

Entries generated using bots, scripts, automated means, fake accounts or other fraudulent methods are not permitted and may be disqualified.

The Promoter may deem an entry invalid if it reasonably considers that an entrant has provided false or misleading information, manipulated the entry process, breached these terms and conditions, or otherwise failed to meet the eligibility or entry requirements.

Where an entrant submits a photograph for the bonus-entry mechanic, they warrant that they created the photograph or otherwise have the necessary rights and permissions to post it.

6. Prize

There is one prize.

The winner will receive a $500 gift card to a supermarket of their choice, subject to availability and the Promoter being reasonably able to purchase and deliver a gift card from the chosen supermarket in the winner's country of residence.

The prize value will be:

  • AUD $500 if the winner is a resident of Australia; or
  • NZD $500 if the winner is a resident of New Zealand.

The relevant gift card issuer's terms and conditions, including any expiry date or restrictions on use, will apply.

The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash through the Promoter.

7. Winner selection

The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received during the Competition Period.

Each valid standard entry will receive one entry in the draw. An entrant who has validly completed the bonus-entry requirements will receive 10 entries in the draw in total.

The random draw will take place on Thursday, 22 October 2026 at the Promoter's office at Building 6, 202 Nicholson Parade, Cronulla NSW 2230, Australia.

The Promoter's decision regarding the validity of entries and the outcome of the draw is final, subject to applicable law.

8. Winner notification and announcement

The winner will be contacted by direct message from the official @mscbluefishtick Instagram account using the Instagram account through which they entered.

The winner will also be announced via the @mscbluefishtick Instagram Stories on 22 October 2026.

Entrants should be alert to impersonation and scam accounts. The Promoter will not ask the winner to pay a fee, make a payment or provide banking passwords in order to claim the prize.

By entering, you agree that, if you win, the Promoter may publish your Instagram handle and/or name for the purposes of announcing and administering the Competition.

9. Claiming the prize and redraw

The winner must respond to the Promoter within seven days of being contacted and provide any information reasonably required to verify their eligibility and arrange delivery of the prize.

The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner.

If the winner cannot be contacted, does not claim the prize within seven days, is found to be ineligible, or their entry is found to be invalid, the Promoter may conduct a redraw from the remaining valid entries, subject to applicable laws.

10. Instagram and Meta

This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram or Meta.

By entering the Competition, entrants release Instagram and Meta from any responsibility associated with the Competition to the extent permitted by law.

Entrants must comply with Instagram's applicable terms and policies when participating in the Competition.

11. Use of photographs

Submission of a photograph as a bonus entry does not transfer ownership of that photograph to the Promoter.

By submitting a photograph as part of the Competition, the entrant grants the Promoter permission to share or repost the photograph through its social-media channels for the purposes of promoting and communicating about the Competition, with attribution to the entrant where reasonably practicable.

12. Privacy

The Promoter may collect and process entrants' personal information, including their name, Instagram handle and contact details, for the purposes of administering the Competition, verifying eligibility, contacting and announcing the winner, and delivering the prize.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the MSC's privacy policy:

https://www.msc.org/en-au/privacy-policy

Entering the Competition does not constitute consent to receive marketing communications from the MSC.

13. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted or not received because of technical problems, network failures, Instagram outages, privacy settings or other circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

14. Changes or cancellation

If circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control prevent the Competition from being conducted as anticipated, the Promoter may modify, suspend or cancel the Competition where permitted by law.

Any material change will be communicated to entrants where reasonably practicable and dealt with in accordance with applicable law.

15. Governing law

For entrants residing in Australia, these terms and conditions are subject to applicable Australian laws and the laws of the State or Territory in which the entrant resides.

For entrants residing in New Zealand, the Competition is subject to applicable New Zealand law.
