Enter our student letter writing competition to win a $250 ALDI gift voucher and other great prizes!

By entering this competition (the Competition), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is the Promoter of the Competition.   

 

1. Entries are open to teachers or parents over 18 residing in Australia submitting on behalf of their student or classroom. Entries will be submitted in the form of a written letter. By entering, you confirm that you meet the above eligibility criteria. There is no cost to enter.   

2. To enter, you should send your student or classroom letter addressed to a sustainable fisher (generic) or one of the fishers profiled in the Saltwater Schools  'Thank you, Fishers' lesson plan. The letter should state the first name of the student or classroom it is from.

3. Letters should be batched (if multiple) and mailed to:

5. Winners will be picked at random to win one of the following prize options for your school or classroom:

There is no alternative prize or equivalent cash value. By entering the Competition, you agree to the Promoter using your first name in relation to the competition, should you win, in its communications, including but not limited to the Promoter's website, social media presences, internal communications channels and public reporting. Student identities will be protected and will be mentioned by first name only or school. 

6. In addition, a prize of a virtual classroom experience with a sustainable fisher will be awarded to the Most Engaged School. School engagement will be determined by the total number of student letters sent, and the Most Engaged School will be the School on behalf of which the greatest number of student letters are sent.  

7. By entering the Competition, you agree to the Promoter using images or video footage of the letter, in its communications, including but not limited to the Promoter's website, social media presences, internal communications channels, and public reporting. Student identities will be protected and will be mentioned by first name only or school.

8. To enter the Competition, the letter must be received at the postage address before the closing date and time. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the MSC.   

9. The starting date for entries is Thursday, 1 June 2023, 7:00 am AEST, and the closing date for entries is Thursday 31 August, 18:00 pm AEST.   

10. Entrants must only register in their own first name and school or class group and school. Any entries of an entrant who the Promoter deems to have provided incorrect, misleading or fraudulent information may, at the sole discretion of the Promoter, be deemed invalid.   

11. The prize draw will occur by Monday, 14 August 2023. The decision of the winners is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.   

12. Winners will be notified using the email address provided by 5 pm AEST on Monday, 14 August 2023. Winners have two calendar weeks until 5 pm AEST on 1 September 2023 to claim their prize. If any unclaimed prizes exist, a second and final prize draw will occur, with winners notified by 5 pm AEST on Monday, 4 September 2023.

13. The MSC accepts no responsibility for the failed delivery of a letter. You are welcome to check that we have received your entry by emailing [email protected]    

14. These terms and conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Courts of the Commonwealth of Australia will have exclusive jurisdiction.   

15. The MSC reserves the right to change the dates, cancel the Competition, or amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.   

16. The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications that may arise from the Prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. Where the operation of this Promotion results in, for GST purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants agree to follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.

3. A winner will be picked at random to win one (1) of four (4) $50 gift vouchers to Coles. There is no alternative prize or equivalent cash value. By entering the Competition you agree to the Promoter using your first name in relation to the competition, should you win, in its communications including but not limited to the Promoter's website, social media presences, internal communications channels and public reporting. Student identities will be protected and will be mentioned by first name only or school.
   

4. To enter the Competition you must complete the online quiz and send an email to [email protected] before the closing date and time. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the MSC.   

5. The starting date for entries is Monday 6 December 2021 12:00am AEST and the closing date for entries is Friday 24 December, 23:00 pm AEST.   

6. Entries using bots or any other form of automated means are not allowed and will be disqualified. Entrants must only register in their own first name and school, or class group and school. Congratulations to teacher Marc Davies and his class at Little Grove Primary School, who are the winners of the MSC Christmas Prawn Treasure Hunt 2020!

Marc and his class have won a 3kg box of MSC-Certified Skull Island Tiger Prawns from the Gulf of Carpentaria, which they will enjoy as a Back to School celebration in 2021.
