Since our last newsletter in September 2012, three British Columbia chum salmon fisheries were awarded MSC certification. The American Albacore Fishing Association’s (AAFA) North and South Pacific albacore fisheries, the first tuna fisheries in the world to be MSC certified, achieved re-certification, and a Manitoba freshwater fishery—Waterhen Lake Walleye and Northern Pike Commercial Gillnet—entered MSC assessment.
