MSC’s State of the Water Report for Norway

The North Atlantic plays a vital role in securing global seafood supply and supporting food security. The region includes some of the world’s leading fishing nations, including Norway, Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands — markets known for their strong fishing traditions, innovations, and international collaboration.

For MSC, this is a strategically important region where close collaboration with fisheries, industry stakeholders, governments, and partners are essential to advancing sustainable practices and strengthening certification efforts in the years ahead.

As such, we are proud to announce the upcoming publication of a Norway State of the Water report, due to be launched in autumn 20026. This report will bring together the latest data, case studies, and context for Norwegian fisheries. It will be a valuable asset for market actors from Japan to Spain and serve as a portfolio of certified fisheries and data insights that we hope will be welcomed from fisheries and market players alike.
