The Ocean Stewardship Fund (OSF) provides grants for fishery improvements and funds important research into bycatch reduction, protecting marine habitats, and the effects of climate change.
We commit 5% of annual royalties from MSC certified product sales to the fund and combine these with third-party donations.
What we fund
Our Ocean Stewardship Fund assists fisheries at all stages of their sustainability journey and aids research that will contribute to long-term improvements.
Highlighted projects

Improving shark bycatch assessment
By ensuring that shark bycatch estimates are robust, French tropical tuna purse seine fisheries will contribute to shark conservation in two oceans.

Better understanding squid populations
This project is a continuation of a long-term study on the abundance of California market squid. Results will contribute to the sustainability of this ecologically and economically significant fishery.

Handling and release techniques for sharks and rays
By evaluating handling and release techniques of accidental shark and ray bycatch, purse seine tuna fisheries in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean aim to reduce their impacts on these endangered, threatened and protected species.
