MSC has successful year at International Boston Seafood Show

The MSC had another successful year at the International Boston Seafood Show (IBSS) in March. On the opening day of the show certification of the iconic Maine lobster fishery was announced by Maine Governor Paul LePage. On the second day of the show MSC held its Annual Update Session. The session included updates from MSC Chief Executive Rupert Howes and MSC Americas Regional Director Kerry Coughlin. Featured guest speakers were Susan Forsell, Vice President of Sustainability for McDonald’s USA, and John Hathaway, Chairman of the Fund for the Advancement of Sustainable Maine Lobster, the client for the newly certified Maine lobster fishery. A panel discussion entitled “Seafood Sustainability in the Developing World: Our Interconnected Industry and What it Means for Your Business” organized by MSC as part of the official IBSS conference program also took place. Miguel Jorge of National Geographic Society moderated the session and representatives from MSC, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, WWF-Ecuador, and Costco Wholesale served as panelists.
