Wiley's Finest Fish oil pack shot

Wild Alaskan Fish Oil - Peak EPA

Four times stronger than regular fish oils, Wiley’s Finest Peak EPA delivers a purified and concentrated dose of EPA. A standard supermarket brand can tout high dosage but offer as little as 250 mg of EPA/DHA. Wiley’s Finest Peak EPA provides better value at 1000mg per capsule. That’s why it is recommended by countless nutritionists to their clients. Wiley’s Finest has long been proud, not only of its sustainable standards, but of its low TOTOX values too. TOTOX stands for Total Oxidation and is the chemical measure of the freshness of the oil. The recommended limit is set at 26, yet Wiley’s Finest leads the way with a level of only 7.5. This is clear evidence to show Wiley’s Finest as the global leader in freshness Omega-3s fish oils. Much of the raw fish oil is made on-board a large fishing boat called a “Catcher Processor,” within three hours of the wild Alaskan pollock being caught.

Sustainability credentials

Peak EPA boasts a blend of omega-3 fatty acids from large, wild species Alaskan fish oil, certified by the Marine Stewardship Council for its commitment to sustainability. Alaskan fisheries are a model of sustainability; they lead the world in conservative, transparent fisheries management practices. Wiley's Finest is one of the only brands in the world to offer a full product line made from Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified 100% Wild Alaskan Fish Oil. Wiley’s Finest specialises in ethical practises and strict adherence to conservation. The company has cameras on their nets to avoid bycatch, meaning bycatch is less than 1%. As well as being sustainably sourced, it is also sustainably packaged; without any cartons and in recyclable dark glass bottles.

Waitrose Scottish Mussels pack shot

No.1 Moules Marinière with Wild Garlic & Chardonnay (2x250g

Our No. 1 Shetland Mussels in Wild Garlic and White Wine Sauce are plump and sweet, cooked in a creamy sauce made with Chardonnay, aromatic wild garlic and fire-roasted leeks. They're grown in the cold, pristine waters around the Shetland Islands where conditions closely replicate their natural habitat. The young mussels settle on ropes suspended in the sea and feed on the natural supply of algae and plankton carried in by strong tidal flows, aided by the North Atlantic Drift. No feeding or chemical input is required. The mussels are carefully monitored and harvested once mature, using sustainable methods that minimise environmental impact. They develop into plump, sweet, and grit-free mussels, as they never touch the seabed.

Sustainability credentials

Mussels are an incredible species from a sustainability perspective. They naturally filter seawater, removing algae and excess nutrients, and do not require any feed input. By keeping the water clean, mussels create a healthy environment where juvenile fish and invertebrates can thrive. To help build their shells, mussels bind carbon and so remove it from the marine environment. These attributes mean mussels help protect marine ecosystems and encourage biodiversity. Scottish mussel farmers are deeply committed to the marine environment, carefully managing the waters they farm and using low-impact methods that rely on natural tidal flows and clean waters.

John West tuna cans stacked

John West MSC Ecotwist Skipjack Tuna 4 pack

At John West, we're proud to bring you MSC certified skipjack tuna, sustainably sourced from the Indian and Atlantic oceans. This is all thanks to our commitment to sustainable fishing through Fishery Improvement Projects, with the aim of MSC certification, that we've supported for over eight years. We're also excited to introduce Ecotwist; a big step forward in packaging innovation. Traditional tuna multipacks used to come wrapped in non-recyclable plastic or heavy cardboard. Ecotwist changes that. It uses a fully recyclable aluminium smart strip that cuts down on waste while keeping your cans securely together. As part of this eco-friendly move, we've also reduced the amount of metal in each can by 15%, saving 400 tonnes annually. Plus, our new design means we can ship tuna more efficiently, saving around 200 shipping containers a year on deliveries from our production sites in Seychelles and Ghana to the UK.

Sustainability credentials

At John West, we’re committed to protecting the future of our oceans. That’s why the skipjack tuna in this product is MSC certified, sourced from fisheries we’ve supported through Fishery Improvement Projects since 2017, helping ensure sustainable tuna for years to come. We’ve also redesigned our packaging with the planet in mind. Our new Ecotwist smart strip replaces plastic shrink wrap, removing 65 tonnes of plastic waste annually from our ‘tuna towers’. Made from fully recyclable aluminium, it can be recycled along with the steel can via UK kerbside collections. Thanks to a smaller, smarter can - holding the same amount of tuna - we’re cutting around 200 container shipments each year from Seychelles and Ghana. We’re also using less brine, oil, and spring water reducing ingredients by 1,500 tonnes a year. Overall, Ecotwist helps us save over 4,000 tonnes of CO₂e annually, without compromising on quality or taste.
