Method

For the tuna: 

  • 2 MSC Yellowfin Tuna Steaks 

  • 1 tsp vegetable oil 

  • ½ tsp black sesame seeds 

  • Pinch of sea salt flakes 

  • For the melt: 

  • 1 Avocado – thinly sliced or substitute with smashed pea pesto 

  • 1 tsp dill, finely chopped 

  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced 

  • 50g sliced mozzarella 

  • 50g sliced mature cheddar 

  • 2 large slices of sourdough 

  • 1 tbs of mayo 

  1. Start by sprinkling your tuna steaks with sesame seeds and sea salt. Heat your oil in a hot non-stick frying pan and sear the steaks for 30-60 secs on each side. Then place to one side.  
  2. Spread the avocado on a slice of bread, then sprinkle with chopped dill, sliced onion and the tuna steaks.  
  3. Cover with cheese and top with bread. Spread the bread with mayo and cook for 3-4 mins on each side for a golden tuna melt.
  4. Season to taste and serve with sweet chilli sauce.
