How is the MSC funded?

How is the MSC funded?

The MSC is an independent nonprofit organization with income is derived from two sources: 1) charitable donations from foundations and 2) licensing of the MSC blue fish ecolabel. The MSC does not receive any payment for assessments or certifications of fisheries. This work is carried out by independent third party certification bodies, which ensures the MSC is impartial to the outcome. When you purchase seafood with the blue fish label, you are directly supporting our mission of safeguarding seafood supplies for the future.
